For as long as I can remember I've been fascinated by Alice in Wonderland. So much so, my late Grandfather called me Alice up until he sadly passed away. Alice lives in a world of endless possibilities, tethered only by what she can imagine. This notion has been a constant source of inspiration in my jewellery design; items that are conventially beautiful but with a little twist of something different.
Alice was born from my own wedding which was also subtly inspired by the novel. I really wanted jewellery that would make a statement. It needed to compliment my dress, finish the outfit and crucially - be unique. I found lots of themed pieces and lots of lovely commercial items, but I didn't want to feel like I was wearing a costume or wearing something that someone else may have. In the end I decided to make my own. I also customised my own dress and I loved the fact that no one would have the same look as me. Pretty soon, I had lots of friends asking me to customise designs for them.
And so, Alice was born. The unique nature of our gemstones, alongside being made by hand, means that no two pieces will look exactly the same. Every item is lovingly handmade from my studio in Hertfordshire. Also, all materials are ethically sourced with a consideration for those who mine and facet the beautiful stones in my designs.
When I'm not making jewellery, I can usually be found sewing, baking or involved in some other form of crafting. I also love gin and running (although not at the same time) and both have been responsible for some of my best ideas!
